Assassin's Creed Valhalla PS5 update adds New Game+ and PSSR upgrades
Assassin's Creed Valhalla gets a free PS5 and PS5 Pro update adding New Game+, a new progression mode, and enhanced PSSR visuals on PS5 Pro.
Ubisoft has released a free update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PS5 and PS5 Pro, delivering a batch of player-requested features. The headline addition is New Game+ 2, joined by two new achievements, an Enhanced Progression Mode option, a new Power calculation, and a Master Assassin Naoe outfit for Eivor, along with an Animus Hub synchronization update.
PS5 Pro owners also get upgraded PSSR optimizations, exclusive to that console. According to Ubisoft Engineering Studio Manager Priscilla Nguyen, the enhanced PSSR is more efficient than the original implementation and slightly more efficient than the game's current Temporal Upscaler, producing a crisper and more visually stable image while upscaling at a better framerate.
Nguyen explained that Ubisoft wants to stay at the forefront of technological innovation so players keep benefiting from improvements, which motivated bringing the upgraded PSSR to Valhalla's Viking-era England.
